Research Interest
My research program is focused on solving problems that relate to educating engineers as they navigate through the K-12 and post-secondary pipelines. I am focused on the national research agenda in engineering education which highlights engineering epistemologies, engineering learning mechanisms, engineering learning systems, engineering diversity and inclusiveness, and engineering assessment. I conduct research on and develop assessment methods, instruments, and metrics to inform engineering education practice and learning in both the K-12 and post-secondary environments. As a leader in the Project Lead the Way and FIRST communities, I seek to identify best practices in educating teachers and engaging students to persevere through the STEM pipeline.
